Ideology
Art Kovalev
«A jack of all trades is a master of none,
but oftentimes better than a master of one»
My name is Art Kovalev. I am a producer.
I founded CommiCorp not just as “another” production studio. I founded it to prove that filmmaking based on justice, transparency, and collective ownership can be not just “ethical”, but also more profitable than the outdated Hollywood model.
Cinema is always high risk. So at the start, I ask for your faith. But not blind faith in “luck”, but faith in this plan and in the cooperative system itself. Into a system where you can invest your labor, sharing victory and defeat. Where you can “count” every euro with us, as soon as the project starts working.
THIS IS NOT A REVOLUTION.
THIS IS EVOLUTION.
According to classical theory, mixed, hybrid models always appear before a change in economic formations. Businesses that take the best from the old world (capital, efficiency) and combine it with the best of the new (socialist distribution, collectivism).
THE TIME HAS COME!
CommiCorp is not the first. We stand on the shoulders of giants. This model is already proving its effectiveness. From Mondragon Coproration (turnover €11+ bn) and Legacoop (association of 10,000+ small cooperatives) to Equal Exchange (coop in USA and UK with 40 years of history).
Now it’s our turn to apply this approach to cinema.
The Five Principles of CommiCorp
1. From each according to his ability, to each according to profit.
We are a collective. Success depends on everyone, and each cooperative member receives a fair share of profits, proportional to their contribution (whether labor or capital).
2. The team decides everything
Our main investment is not in “hardware”, but in talented people who share our principles. We are not just looking for employees, but for future co-owners of our projects.
3. A mistake is experience, not a crime.
We encourage honesty and experimentation. We do not punish a single mistake; we extract collective benefit from it. But we do not tolerate negligence or hiding problems.
4. Play the hand you are dealt.
We are pragmatists, not dogmatists. We live in the real world and use the best capitalist tools (SPV, marketing, tax optimization…) to achieve our socialist goals.
5. Good artists copy, great artists steal!
We do not reinvent the wheel. We take the best, time-tested ideas and shamelessly build our new business and cinema model upon them.
